Katie Bertrand

I am an energetic and determined college graduate from The University of Scranton. This past month I completed my Bachelor of Science degree in Entrepreneurship. My work experience has allowed me to build on my interpersonal and team-building skills. During my semester in Florence, Italy I developed strong problem-solving skills living in a new environment while establishing a network with students all over the world. I am currently looking for job opportunities in Europe, beginning in Fall of 2024.

Over the last three years, I have held multiple roles with increasing levels of responsibility in the marketing and event planning field. I am proficient in Canva, Excel, and Adobe Illustrator having used these software systems daily in my past jobs. As a Social Media Marketing Executive at Inclusive Jobs, I used Adobe to create unique and engaging designs for a variety of social media accounts. Working closely with the marketing team, I crafted strategic marketing strategies in line with our goals. In this position, I also used Social Bee to plan out and schedule our posts. My role as Marketing Coordinator at The University of Scranton Office of Global Education required me to use Canva to design posts to capture the attention of our target audience. In these roles, I planned, developed, and executed marketing campaigns to reach and expand our audience. Additionally, I used Excel I kept track of important metrics to aid in future campaigns for both roles. 

The responsibility I had for maintaining and growing these companies’ social media accounts was not a role I took lightly. I diligently engaged with followers by responding to public comments as well as personal messages. I was able to showcase my interpersonal and social skills by answering in a concise yet welcoming manner. I managed content creation along with other job responsibilities to increase my time management and organizational skills. Through my past work experiences, I learned the importance of collaborating with my colleagues. This came naturally to me as I enjoy and see the value in working on a team. Overall, I am excited to continue to grow and continue my professional career.

During my time as a student at The University of Scranton, I majored in Entrepreneurship. This required me to take a rigorous course load with business classes ranging in topics from marketing to accounting. In my courses, I was tasked to work in groups, on individual projects and papers, and take cumulative exams. During my Sophomore year of college, I studied abroad in Florence, Italy. This experience allowed me to gain a new perspective to take back with me to the classroom.
