Role Introduction:

Applegreen Electric is in a rapid growth phase and is seeking to onboard an IT Infrastructure Engineer with the skills, experience, and dynamism to help deliver our mission by being responsible for designing, implementing, managing, and supporting the organisation's IT Infrastructure. This role involves working with hardware, software, networks, and various IT tools to ensure the efficient and secure operation of the company's technology systems. The IT Infrastructure Engineer collaborates with cross-functional teams to develop and maintain robust and scalable IT environments across UK, ROI and USA.

The successful candidate will be a confident people person who can fit into Applegreen Electric seamlessly and adopt a hands-on approach to their role and have flexibility to travel as required for the role.

Key Responsibilities:

As Applegreen Electric evolves, the responsibilities of this role will too. The core responsibilities will centre around the following areas:

Infrastructure Design and Implementation:

• Design, implement, and maintain IT infrastructure solutions based on organisational requirements.
• Evaluate and recommend hardware, software, and networking technologies to meet business needs.
• Collaborate with architects, system administrators, and other IT professionals to ensure seamless Integration of infrastructure components.

Network Management:

• Configure, implement and maintain connectivity, network devices, including routers, switches, firewalls, and SASE.
• Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues.
• Collaborate with network security professionals to implement and maintain a secure network infrastructure.

Security and Compliance:

• Implement security best practices to safeguard the organisation's data and infrastructure.
• Conduct regular security assessments and audits.
• Ensure compliance with industry regulations and standards.

Troubleshooting and Support:

• Respond to and resolve infrastructure-related incidents and service requests in a timely manner.
• Provide technical support to end-users and other IT teams.
• Participate in on-call rotation for after-hours support.

Documentation:

• Maintain up-to-date documentation for infrastructure configurations, procedures, and policies.
• Create and update standard operating procedures (SOPs) for routine tasks and issue resolution.

Collaboration and Communication:

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, system administrators, and support staff.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders to gather requirements and provide status updates.

EV Charging Hardware Commissioning:

• Support the EV Charger Commissioning Team

Qualifications, experience & skills

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience as an IT Infrastructure Engineer or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of hardware, software, networking, and security technologies.
• Certifications such as Cisco CCNA, CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, or equivalent are a plus.
• Experience and Management of both Starlink and Cellular Implementations.
• Network Testing
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Extensive stakeholder and communication (both written and verbal) skills.
• Expertise in interpreting, understanding, and solving complex technical problems/incidents.
