    Horizon ControlsGroup areseeking a highly skilled Senior Automation Engineer to join our dynamic team inCork. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in designing,implementing, and maintaining automation systems to support our pharmaceuticalmanufacturing processes. This role requires expertise in Siemens PLC's,Rockwell platforms, and ArchestrA systems.

    Responsibilities:

    • Collaborate withcross-functional teams to understand automation requirements and developinnovative solutions to improve manufacturing processes.
    • Design, program, and configureSiemens PLC's, Allen Bradley PLC's, Rockwell platforms, and ArchestrA systems to automateproduction processes and optimize efficiency.
    • Conduct system integrationtesting, troubleshooting, and debugging to ensure reliable and robustautomation solutions.
    • Provide technical leadershipand mentorship to junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuouslearning and development within the automation team.
    • Partner with external vendorsand contractors to procure automation equipment and services, ensuringcompliance with regulatory standards and company policies.
    • Develop and maintaindocumentation, including specifications, standard operating procedures(SOPs), and change control documentation, to ensure transparency andtraceability of automation systems.
    • Participate in riskassessments, root cause analyses, and corrective/preventive actions(CAPAs) to address automation-related issues and drive processimprovements.
    • Stay current with industrytrends and emerging technologies in automation, identifying opportunitiesto enhance manufacturing capabilities and maintain a competitive edge.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree inengineering, Computer Science, or related field. Master's degreepreferred.
    • Minimum of 5 years ofexperience in automation engineering within the pharmaceutical orbiotechnology industry.
    • Proficiency in programming andconfiguring Siemens PLC's (e.g., S7-1500, TIA Portal) and Rockwellplatforms (e.g., ControlLogix, Studio
    • Strong knowledge of ArchestrAsystems, including Wonderware System Platform and Application Server.
    • Experience with SCADA systems,HMI development, and data acquisition (e.g., Wonderware InTouch,FactoryTalk View).
    • Familiarity with regulatoryrequirements (e.g., FDA, EMA, GMP) and industry standards (e.g., ISA-88,ISA-95) governing pharmaceutical automation.
    • Excellent problem-solvingskills and a proactive mindset to identify and address technicalchallenges in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
    • Effective communication skillswith the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams andinfluence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
    • Demonstrated leadershipexperience, with a track record of successfully leading automationprojects from concept to implementation.
