    Description

    Management Accounting Lead - South Dublin

    Reed has the pleasure of recruiting for a Management Accountant for our client based in South Dublin .

    You will be specifically responsible for the financial reporting, which includes detailed monthly management accounts and variance analysis, board reports, the annual report and accounts and the financial consolidation submissions for the relevant Government Departments. In addition, you will prepare annual budgets and periodic financial reforecasting.

    You will be directly responsible for the payroll function, including the management and supervision of the Payroll Specialist and the Accounts Assistant.

    Salary: €53,846 - €64,272

    WFH: Available between 3 – 6 months in the position

    Duties in the role:

    • Responsible for the preparation of monthly management accounts and board reports and related expenditure and trend and variance analysis
    • Prepare a detailed commentary reflecting underlying business activities to accompany the monthly financial accounts
    • Prepare the annual budgets and forecasts through engagement and support to and from Budget Managers
    • Provide financial guidance and advice to Budget Managers to ensure their financial results are properly managed and controlled
    • Responsible for monthly balance sheet reconciliations and related financial controls
    • Prepare the monthly and annual consolidation submissions for the relevant Government Departments
    • Together with the FPM prepare the annual report and accounts
    • Lead the external audit process (both Interim and Final) ensuring that the external auditors are provided with all relevant information in a timely and efficient manner
    • Manage and oversee the Fixed Asset Register
    • Approve of VAT and Intrastat returns
    • Work with the Director of Corporate Services (DCS) and the FPM with the preparation of the annual five year Corporate Plan and related financial modelling
    • Assist with other ad-hoc duties and project work as directed by the FPM and DCS
    • Manage the payroll function ensuring that all payrolls are accurately completed in accordance with the payroll schedules
    • Ensure compliance with Revenue payroll rules and regulations
    • Ensure all pay adjustments are accurately and efficiently implemented
    • Ensure the Pensioner Payroll is administered in accordance with the UK Cabinet Office requirements
    • Manage the GDPR rules and data retention procedures within the payroll section
    • Lead and direct the Payroll Specialist and the Accounts Assistant in their day to day operational roles and responsibilities
    • Manage and mentor their staff (2), including responsibility for induction, performance and development
    • Continue to improve team performance and efficiency in their area of responsibility
