    Description

    Motor Distributors Limited, the exclusive importer and distributor of Mercedes-Benz ('MB'), Smart and BYD in Ireland wishes to recruit a Senior Financial Accountant for the Finance Department.

    We are looking for an experienced, motivated, proactive professional who will be responsible for managing the monthly reporting process, annual reporting requirements and the finance team and all its outputs for MB and any potential new brands. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, the successful candidate will form an important part of our Finance Department as we continue to develop our world class product range. The role includes a competitive salary and other benefits. Further details to be discussed at interview. Main Duties and Responsibilities:

    The preparation of the monthly management accounts of MB, together with all of the ancillary reporting and controls.

    Preparation, analysis and posting of journals at month end.

    Strong management of the balance sheet including reconciliations to be prepared and reviewed on a monthly basis and the management of a strong process and control environment in all areas.

    Involved in the management of an experienced finance team.

    The preparation of the annual statutory financial statements and liaising with Auditors and Tax advisors in this respect.

    Ensure all regulatory requirements are met including VAT, CT, PAYE etc.

    The preparation, in consultation with the sales divisions, of an annual volume and profit forecast.

    Preparation of quarterly reports/forecasts as required along with the annual budget.

    Leading the analysis of monthly results and reporting those to the CFO.

    Cashflow management.

    Improving efficiencies and reducing costs across the business.

    Key contact for our partners for all financial related queries.

    In addition, you will be encouraged to propose and oversee the implementation of improvements in systems.

    Finally, ad hoc projects will arise from time to time.

    Required Skills, Knowledge and Experience:

    You will be a qualified accountant with excellent IT skills.

    Post qualification experience in a management accounting role and managing a team in industry is desirable.

    You will have exposure to managing the audit process including the production of annual financial statements.

    You will be capable, in time, of making a meaningful contribution to the commercial activity of MB Ireland, while maintaining and improving a strong and well-established reporting and control environment.
