Additionally, Abbott maintains commercial, support operations, and shared services in Dublin. Since 1946, Abbott has been catering to the Irish market with a diverse array of healthcare products, including diagnostics, medical devices, nutritionals, and branded generic pharmaceuticals.
    Abbott Ireland Vascular Division – Clonmel
    Abbott Vascular stands out globally as a top player in vascular care. The division is dedicated to advancing the treatment of vascular disease and enhancing patient care by merging cutting-edge medical device innovations with top-notch pharmaceuticals. A major focus is on research and development and medical education.
    Within our broad selection of vascular devices, which encompass vessel closure, endovascular, and coronary technologies, we address conditions affecting the heart, carotid arteries, and peripheral blood vessels. These conditions could lead to severe health issues like heart attacks, strokes, and critical limb ischemia.
    We are currently seeking a capable Research & Development Engineer to join our team. The role involves:
    • Supporting manufacturing operations to ensure productivity, streamline processes, and achieve production targets. Monitoring equipment performance and addressing issues to enhance product quality and yield. Collaborating with quality and R&D teams to integrate new products and processes.
    Responsibilities:
    • Initiating and executing technical activities for product and process enhancements. Sharing findings via reports and presentations.
    • Resolving basic to complex engineering problems through innovative approaches. Becoming a recognized authority in a specialized area.
    • Applying engineering principles, business policies, and customer needs in task completion. Anticipating technological trends and business requirements.
    • Building internal and external networks to accomplish tasks. Mentoring new hires and leading project teams.
    • Interacting with various stakeholders for advice and interpretations. Representing the business to customers on capabilities.
    • Participating in validation activities, potentially leading such tasks.
    Education and Job Skills
    • National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) level 7 qualification in a relevant discipline with 4+ years of experience, or equivalent.
    • Extensive knowledge of technical principles and business unit functions. Working in a quality system environment.
    • Analyzing diverse problems and selecting appropriate solutions. Influencing teams and middle management.
    • Planning and organizing tasks efficiently. Making impactful decisions under general supervision.
    • Providing guidance to subordinates and contributing to their career development.
