- Actuarial Managers are involved in the successful delivery and management of actuarial and multidisciplinary projects, including both the relationship with clients and the performance of the internal EY team.
- The successful candidate will be expected to drive the production of client deliverables, with an emphasis on quality and teaming. They will have a responsibility for assisting with the management and development of more junior colleagues.
- They will look to develop a number of areas of technical excellence, participating in the research and development required to support the growth of these fields of expertise.
- They will be expected to adopt an account management mind-set, identifying client specific needs. They will be able to positively promote the EY strategy, services and values.
- They must be confident and credible in taking the lead in both client interactions and with more junior colleagues.
- They will work across a broad range of projects both as part of the assurance and advisory practices. They will look to develop their EY network through working on multidisciplinary projects across different service lines.
- Qualified Actuary, with a minimum of 5 years PQE and 8 years of total experience in non-life insurance/reinsurance or non-life consultancy, preferably with IFRS 17 or related experience
- Excellent technical and analytical skills
- IT programming ( in the form of reserving/capital model development) or actuarial software experience ( reserving/capital software packages)
- Awareness of the challenges facing the non-life insurance industry
- Previous experience in managing more junior staff and delivering projects
- Demonstrated ability in problem solving and managing multiple tasks
- Excellent communication skills, both in written and oral format
- Focus on deadlines, discipline and process, yet flexible and pragmatic
- Professional attitude and demeanour
- Confident dealing with clients
- Previous experience in at least two of the following areas: IFRS 17 Solvency II Financial reporting Capital and Risk Management
