    Description

    Responsibilities:

    1. Provide comprehensive physiotherapy assessments and treatments to residents in the nursing home.
    2. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to address residents' mobility, pain management, and functional independence.
    3. Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure holistic resident care, including communication with nurses, doctors, and other healthcare professionals.
    4. Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of assessments, interventions, and progress notes in accordance with legislative requirements.
    5. Educate residents, families, and staff on injury prevention, therapeutic exercises, and assistive devices.
    6. Stay informed about and adhere to all relevant legislative and regulatory standards governing physiotherapy practice in Ireland.
    7. Participate in regular team meetings, case conferences, and in-service training to enhance professional development.
    8. Contribute to the development of policies and procedures related to physiotherapy services within the nursing home.
    9. Ensure confidentiality and privacy of residents' health information in accordance with data protection regulations.
    10. Collaborate with external healthcare providers and agencies as needed for the well-being of residents.

    Requirements:

    1. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Physiotherapy from a recognized institution.
    2. Current registration with the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists (ISCP) or relevant professional body.
    3. Previous experience working with elderly populations and a solid understanding of geriatric physiotherapy.
    4. Knowledge of and adherence to the Health and Social Care Professionals Act (CORU), including ongoing professional development requirements.
    5. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    6. Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
    7. Flexibility and adaptability to meet the evolving needs of the nursing home environment.
