    Description

    The Client:

    Our client plays an integral role in the management of government building projects, they are involved in the procurement and delivery of developments of over €75 million. Our client is currently involved in several projects including educational, justice and commercial, where they work as a link between the government and the end user.

    The Role:

    This is a senior professional role requiring extensive technical experience at all project stages from project inception through procurement, construction, operation and hand back. The ability to engage with stakeholders and counterparties and to support the wider NDFA team are also key aspects of the role.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Providing technical mechanical and electrical engineering advice to project management teams who are delivering services to the client.
    • Creating and maintaining stakeholder relationships with various parties including internal and external stakeholders.
    • Advising on Mechanical and Electrical building systems through the design, planning, procurement, construction, commissioning and operation phases of large scale public capital projects.
    • Implementation of climate action and sustainability strategies.
    • Participating in tender evaluation panels and various workgroups related to project procurement delivery.
    • Assisting in the procurement and management of external technical advisors.
    • Advising on facilities management aspects of mechanical and electrical systems and lifecycle replacement strategies in respect of mechanical and electrical components and elements.

    Qualifications and Experience

    • Third level degree (or equivalent) or higher in mechanical, electrical or building services engineering.
    • Chartered membership of Engineers Ireland, the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers or another relevant professional institution.
    • Previous experience of Public Private Partnership projects is desirable but not essential.
    • 10 years relevant experience relating to the delivery of mechanical and electrical services for major building or infrastructure projects in a client facing lead engineering design role.
    • Stakeholder engagement and liaison capability in active projects including engagement with statutory bodies and utility providers.
