    Description
    Randox is welcoming applications from highly motivated individuals for the position of Biomedical Engineer within our growing Research and Development department. The role will support the design and development of new diagnostic platforms and the continuous improvement of existing platforms through testing, verification, and validation activities.

    This role is based at Randox Teoranta, Dungloe, Co. Donegal.

    The role:
  • Ensure all maintenance practices are adhered to either through operator preventative maintenance schedules or direct maintenance schedules.
  • Develop maintenance schedules in order to improve cost effective use of equipment.
  • Identify improvement in equipment and processes that will increase the output/yield of systems.
  • Validation of existing equipment to relevant standards.
  • Development of existing designs and processes to improve performance or cost-effectiveness.
  • Specifying bought-in engineering products and services.
  • Identification and evaluation of suppliers of engineering products and services.
  • Where appropriate carry out routine preventative maintenance.
  • Respond to machine breakdowns and identify solutions and carry out corrective action as appropriate, informing the Production Supervisor/Biochip Formulation Manager of issues. Breakdowns may require additional working hours from time to time, to maintain optimum service levels.
  • Maintaining technical documentation e.g. specifications, design drawings, design calculations, reports, procedures, and documents required by the quality management system and Maintenance Manuals.
  • Trouble-shooting technical problems on existing designs and identifying possible solutions.
  • Weekly reports of trends regarding machine running issues to Biochip Formulation Manager/ supervisor.
  • The adherence to company Health & Safety procedures and the maintenance of a safe working environment.
    • Your Profile:
    Essential:
  • Experience of maintenance engineering.
  • Working knowledge of electrical/mechanical/pneumatic fault-finding techniques.
  • Experience of a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge and experience of preventative maintenance practices.
  • Computer literate.
    • Desirable:
  • Experience of similar process machinery.
  • Higher education qualification in plant/process engineering
  • Experience of Health & Safety requirements.
  • Experience of Quality issues.
