- Routinely writing and maintaining test methods, test protocols and procedures forms an integral part of the job.
- Analysis and testing of materials and components using the following equipment: optical microscopy, contact angle goniometer, Differential Scanning Calorimeter, Thermogravimetric Analyser Fourier Transform Infra-Red Spectrometer, Melt Flow Rate Indexer, Nanoindentation & Scratch Tester, Scanning Electron Microscope, Dynamic Mechanical Analyser, Rotational Rheometer and Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscopy.
- In addition to testing, the job will involve sample preparation, collection of data, statistical analysis, results interpretation, and report writing.
- Test equipment troubleshooting, monthly and yearly maintenance checks will be required.
- Communicates any concerns about work process regarding environmental impact, health, and safety issues to their manager.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Exhibit excellent team player characteristics and builds strong collaborative relationships accoss the organization.
- Manages multiple complex investigations. Proactively negotiates with stakeholders to prioritize when necessary and effectively communicates testing lead times as required.
- Demonstrates a primary commitment to patient safety and product quality.
- Understands and complies with all the regulations governing the quality systems
- Level 8 Bachelors Degree in Polymer Engineering/Science or equivalent (240 credits)
- Ideally 1-2 years experiences as an Engineer supporting Characterization or Problem Solving preferably in the medical device industry.
- Good technical capabilities and ideally experience in Material Characterization Analysis.
- Strong communication skills, teamwork abilities and initiative.
- Proven ability to work well both as part of a team but also able to work on own with minimum supervision.
