    Description

    Dornan are currently recruiting for a Payroll Specialist to work as part of the Payroll Team in the Dornan Head Office, Little Island, Cork.

    This is a 14 month fixed term contract opportunity.

    Dornan are a leading Mechanical, Electrical and Instrumentation contractor with projects in Ireland, Europe and the UK. Dornan are involved in projects across many sectors such as Pharmaceutical, Power, Waste to Energy, Commercial, Data Centre and Petrochemical.     The payroll specialist will work within the busy payroll department and be involved with the processing of in-house weekly payroll for Ireland, UK and outsourced European payrolls.

    Key responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the accurate and timely processing of end-to-end payroll
  • Respond to payroll queries from employees and internal/external business partners
  • Responsible for payroll reporting and ensuring that the general ledgers are updated accurately and on time
  • Liaise with HR, Finance, Auditors, Social Welfare, Revenue / HRMC and any external partners and institutions
  • Provide manual calculations and payments as and when required
  • Continuously reviewing existing payroll procedures and providing suggested improvements where required
  • Ensuring compliance with Revenue in relation to Revenue Payroll Notifications, Payroll Submissions and enquiries
  • Keep up to date with payroll related regulatory changes that may impact the business
  • Ensure payroll is controlled tightly to adhere with SOX, GDPR and internal compliance procedures
  • Other ad‐hoc duties, month‐end and year end tasks as required

    • Experience, education & skills:

  • At least 3 years payroll experience in a similar role
  • IPASS qualification desirable
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent eye for detail and strong problem solving skills
