    Responsibilities

    · Lead various projects from a mechanical design perspective and be part of a multidisciplinary team developing solutions for Advanced Driver Assistance Systems including cameras, ECUs and domain controllers.

    · Represent R&D on project, customer and supplier interactions.

    · Interface across a multidisciplinary environment in a clear and effective manner.

    · Provide technical direction and coaching/mentoring of junior engineers on the team and in the department.

    · Provide support and input to other tasks within the function as deemed necessary by management and senior management.

    · Responsible for prioritizing work daily, weekly and at a project level for all mechanical contributors working on the project(s) assigned.

    · Responsible for identifying and escalating resource needs across their project(s) not limited to, deficiencies, training needs, performance and inputting to (but not responsible for) appraisals as needed.

    · Lead and give direction on project related technical activities including product validation/testing, tolerance analysis, DFMEA, dimensional and design optimisations.

    · Manage project documentation in the PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) database.

    · Support technical architecture and standards assignments.

    Education/Training

    · Relevant Mechanical Engineering Qualifications (Degree).

    Professional Experience

    Mandatory:

    · 5+ years experience in Mechanical Design.

    · Experience in developing products for high volume manufacturing.

    · Tooling and moulding experience - ability to identify and suggest part improvements.

    · Experience with engineering tools such as DOE and SPC.

    · Problem solving techniques and methodical approaches to the same.

    · Experience in developing 2D drawings and 3D designing using 3D CAD.

    · Self-starter, motivated individual who can work well alone or as part of a design team.

    · The person must be able to demonstrate a high level of commitment, initiative and quality of workmanship required within the R&D environment.

    · High level of enthusiasm and motivation, and the ability to take input from others are desirable.

    · Good communicator and fluent in English, both in writing and speaking.

    Desirable:

    · Previous experience in a senior/lead engineer role or managing a professional team.

    · Experience in an automotive environment.

    · Experience with vision products, automotive electronics.

    · Tolerance investigations and stack up analysis experience.

    · Detailed Drawings and Drawing Control inc. GD+T.
