    Description

    Overview of Role

    Cleaning duties as appropriate to the Sterile Services Department. Handling, delivery and storage of raw material components and supplies. Conform with equipment and technological advances within their work areas .The Central Sterile Supply Department (CSSD) is a specialised area responsible for the collection, decontamination, assembling, packing, sterilisation, storing and distribution of sterile goods and equipment to patient care areas at UPMC Aut Even Hospital

    Duties & Responsibilities

    • Establish and maintain good communication with all users of the service and promote good working relations.
    • Arranging the sterile items in the Sterile Store Room
    • Carrying out the activities carried out by the other technicians when required
    • Ensure cleaning the department and other housekeeping related activities
    • Issuing the items to the user departments
    • Loading the materials for sterilisation
    • Material planning and communicating to the In Charge
    • Monitoring the parameters
    • Packing and labelling the materials
    • Planning and executing the cleaning & sterilisation processes
    • Preparing items for sterilisation - gauze, cotton and such other consumables
    • Putting up and updating the Standard Operating Procedures related to Central Sterile Supply Department (CSSD)
    • Recall procedure initiation
    • Receiving, checking and segregating the Central Sterile Supply Department (CSSD) items
    • Running validation tests
    • Washing, cleaning and drying the instruments

    Qualifications & Experience

    • Previous experience working within a similar environment is advantageous.
    • The ability to work on your own initiative in a fast paced environment.
    • Work effectively as part of a team.
    • Effective interpersonal and communication skills are essential
