David Villarán Báñez

I am David Villarán, an industrial chemical engineer with a passion for problem-solving and an unwavering dedication to exceeding expectations. Currently, I hold the role of Optimization Engineer at CEPSA, a major international oil group in Huelva, Spain.

My experience in managing and directing the daily natural gas load required to run heating processes has led to increased profitability and efficiency of different industrial processes at the refinery. Furthermore, my ability to monitor energy consumption and make strategic decisions to optimize its use in line with the company's objectives has been instrumental in the success of my role.

Although my work experience is primarily focused on chemical engineering, my passion for learning and problem-solving approach has led me to seek new opportunities in Ireland. I am open to any type of position, whether full-time or part-time, and I am willing to relocate to make it happen.

In addition, my work experience has been complemented by training courses and certifications, including a fundamentals of programming course, a B2 level English certification, and an advanced Excel course. I am confident that my experience in problem-solving, passion for learning, and dedication to team success will be a valuable contribution to any organization.

As an optimization engineer at CEPSA, you manage and direct the daily natural gas load required to execute heating processes, oversee the refinery's energy consumption, make strategic decisions to optimize energy usage, and coordinate with other departments and staff to ensure seamless and uninterrupted operations. You have also contributed to a project to relocate pipes for the use of condensate water, resulting in improved operations. As a quality lab technician intern at Votorantim Cimentos España, you conducted extensive laboratory tests on process materials for cement manufacture, managed daily production activities, and maintained accurate records of quality data.

Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Chemical Engineering from the University of Huelva, Spain, with a final project focused on designing a fluidized bed reactor for biomass pyrolysis and studying the pyrolysis of Leucaena Leucocephala. They also participated in an ERASMUS exchange program at VSB - Technical University of Ostrava, Czech Republic, for 10 months from September 2018 to June 2019. Relevant coursework includes Industrial Chemical Engineering.
