About Cansu Aytug:
I completed my undergraduate education in physics with honors at the Graduate School of Natural and Applied Science at Pamukkale University, Denizli, Turkey. Following that, I pursued a master's program focused on semiconductors, where I achieved high honors. I then began my doctoral program, completing the second year remotely while simultaneously improving my English language skills in Ireland.
Experience
I have worked in two different laboratories, which are thin-film production laboratory and electrical characterization laboratory, in my studies, I focused on the production of Ge-doped CuInSe2 semiconductor thin films and the effects of doping and annealing on the structural, electrical, and optical properties of these. During my master’s education, I gained both theoretical and practical experiences in various subjects such as scientific research techniques and ethics, discipline, and safety in the laboratory, poly-crystalline synthesis, doping semiconductors, thin-film deposition techniques, physical vapor deposition (PVD), thermal evaporation system, doctor blade coating technique, vacuum pump systems, annealing process, the principle of scanning electron microscope (SEM), principle of x-ray diffractometer (XRD), hall effect measurement system, carrier density and carrier mobility in semiconductors, types of semiconductor, the temperature dependence of electrical conductivity, UV-VIS spectrometer, conduction mechanisms in semiconductors, scattering mechanisms in semiconductors, band gap, photoconductivity, solar cells, photovoltaic and renewable energy sources. In addition to these, I participated in the "Energy Technologies Summer School: Photovoltaic Technologies" training in October 2019, which was prepared with the contribution of UNESCO, and gained broader perspective on the current status of renewable energy in the world, photovoltaic technologies, fundamentals of photovoltaic, c-Sibased solar cells-PERC / PERT, organic solar cells, dye-sensitized solar cells, bio-photovoltaic systems, perovskite solar cells, thin-film solar cells. During my graduate education, I aimed to increase my laboratory experience by collaborating with colleagues working on production and characterization stages of CuInGe2, Bi2Se3, and other thin films.
