We Did Not Stop The Fire

We Did Not Stop The Fire

We did not stop the fire

As far as you are concerned the world is full of nice blokes, on that note allow me to choke

We did not stop the fire

You keep telling me you are a brave man and that you are doing all you can

We did not stop the fire

You keep telling me you are a one of the leaders because you have more than one thousand followers

We did not stop the fire

You call yourself a gentleman, is quicksand the name of your copyrighted brand

We did not stop the fire

I should not be so harsh and give you some credit, you have some many brownie points according to your Fitbit

We did not stop the fire

Are you waiting for the release of the latest app, I bet it’s going to be a chap with a military cap?

We did not stop the fire

Is your disillusion of grandeur sinking in a distraught harbour when you confuse courage and ardour

We did not stop the fire

You are not a monkey or a chimpanzee not even a baboon or is it what they call a buffoon

Even our brother the ape knows nobody is going to be saved by a man with a cape

"You are not a monkey or a chimpanzee not even a baboon or is it what they call a buffoon." I'd say that just about nails it Pascal Derrien...Let's hope they don't get drunk and start a fire....

Always a question of choice when one is lucky to be able to have one CityVP \ud83d\udc1d Manjit I suppose. I have no doubt you are far from being ready to be regimented :-)

Eh! Damn bro ! This is the spirit in which I wrote The Water of Life https://www.bebee.com/producer/@cityvp/the-water-of-life For sure we are not just coal for the marketer to burn or firewood for the latest HR policy or a gas chamber for the project manager to regiment us through. Billy Joel was bang on in his song that we didn't start the fire and that it has burning all along, from the moment the oldest profession came into being and the priesthood became a professional force directing itself on ordinary people. Just as I had finished writing The Water of Life you Pascal Derrien have inspired in me another "People to the Power".

i gotta figure a way to lose the obsession with thought and perhaps get beyond the self . I really like reading you and Joyce Bowen in continuity. Although i really find the themes very tragic.

thought i'd get cheap thrills Watching fires from afar Then tell you i did my best Before the bodies char thought i would be king from the praise of monkeys but you did know for sure i forgot to say please thought i lost myself in search of twilight i believed it was dark but i didn't guess right thought fame had gone had my luck run out you were too thoughtful to clear up my doubt Thought i'd come out clean With no more wounds to lick But Theres no heaven or hell for me i am stuck in traffic (How could i possibly stop the fire?) Pretty disconnected and rough for now:( but thanks for the great read.
