    Animal Care Assistant

    About the Role

    We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Animal Care Assistant to join our team at the ISPCA Equine Rescue Centre in Mallow, Co. Cork.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Caring for and rehabilitating sick, injured, and traumatised animals with excellent animal handling experience of equines and canines.
    • Providing animal behaviour, evaluation, and assessment skills to ensure the well-being of our residents.
    • Working as part of a team to provide a safe and nurturing environment for all animals.

    Requirements

    • Excellent animal handling experience with equines and canines is required.
    • Experience caring for and rehabilitating sick, injured, and traumatised animals is an advantage.
    • Good basic level of education is necessary.
    • A keen interest in animal welfare is essential.
    • Ability to work efficiently under pressure, as part of a team and on own initiative.
    • Fully qualified driver with clean licence to drive a manual vehicle and ability to drive a tractor and/or tow a horsebox will be advantageous.

    Working Conditions

    The successful candidate will be required to work on a seven-day rostered system with occasional time flexibility and travel requirements.

    Based at: ISPCA Equine Rescue Centre, Dromsligo, Mallow, Co. Cork.

    Salary: €13 per hour.

    Contract Type: Permanent.
