    Description

    Production Manager will have responsibility for increasing company productivity and ensuring that production targets are met on time. They will have responsibility to manage and oversee the production process, manage the relevant people and drive quality and efficency at all levels during the production process. The production manager will also manage the planning and maintenance processes linked to production.

    This role will report directly to the General Manager in Ireland as well as the corporate production manager within the group. This role will be part of the senior site management team contributing actively to all aspects of the business.

    Ideal profile:

    • Enthusiastic, energetic, self-motivated person with some experience in either engineering (mechanical or electrical).
    • Ideally a person with some level of experience in a production environment with proven history of driving change / leading improvements.
    • Would suit a candidate looking to move into a more senior role. Candidate must be very comfortable working in a digitalised/ data driven environment.
    • Communication is key skill as role will manage a team of 20-25 people and communicate to senior management at a local and corporate level.

    Key roles and duties:

    • Planning and organising production schedules for all aspects of the plant production activities in the most time efficient and cost effective manner possible.
    • Planning of raw materials in conjunction with purchasing to ensure all key components for production are available as required.
    • Liaising with the purchasing and technical department to ensure raw materials and other essential components are available as required for the production process.
    • Liaising with Purchasing and Finance departments to coordinate regular stocktakes. This will also include ensuring that all processes are updated and consumables downloaded to enable us an accurate stocktake can happen.
    • Supervising and managing the work of all production staff on a daily basis.
    • Planning and coordinating staff resources to ensure that the production processes are run efficiently. This duty includes production of employee weekly working hours reports and liaising with staff on their availability, holidays and overtime as required.
    • Overseeing production processes to monitor, measure and record production activities and outputs on a daily basis.
    • Communicate effectively with the Customer Service and Sales department to provide regular updates on the status of sales orders. Participate in the weekly planning and sales meeting.
    • Provide production data in order to assess and plan specific actions.
    • Identifying and organising any areas for improvement/ training and making management aware of such requirements.
    • Support Quality Department to ensure that the quality procedures and the customer specification are being respected during the manufacturing processes, and make the management aware of the necessity of improvements.
    • Support Quality department on cases of complaint, where it may be related to production phases
    • Support the development of new manufacturing processes, when required, in order to ensure the good manufacturing practices and the correct manufacturing workflow.
    • Ensuring that health and safety regulations are met.
    • Any other duties as they arise.

    Maintenance Duties:

    • Working with electrical and mechanical subcontractors to coordinate their activities in response to demands.
    • Working with the plant manager to coordinate and manage a preventative maintenance programme for the production equipment used in the plant.
    • Responsible for coordinating the cleaning contractor to ensure cleanliness of the production and office areas is maintained. Use of cleaning plans and management of activities is needed here.
    • Day to day maintenance activities for upkeep of buildings as required.
    • Management of subcontractors when required to carry out maintenance work.
    • Management of subcontractors required for security of building (internal and external)
    • Working with the purchasing department on the management of all subcontractors related to maintenance duties.
    • Keep the maintenance documentation available and updated
    • Ensure the maintenance programme is updated and effective.
    • Ensure the operators are respecting the maintenance plan and registers.
    • Working with landscapers for maintenance and upkeep of external lawns.
    • Any other duties as they arise.

    Job Type: Full-time

    Salary: From €55,000.00 per year
