    Description

    Metrologist required for manufacturing facility in Longford. Responsible for measuring systems programs, tooling and instrumentation on-site. If interested, do email an updated word copy of your CV -

    Requirements

    • Interprets drawings featuring Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing to identify product inspection requirements.
    • Writes and edits programs utilized in manufacturing using PC-DMIS software
    • Serves as technical expert for metrology inspection.
    • Identify, design & develop tooling/ fixture requirements to facilitate product inspection on CMM / Vision system in conjunction with tooling manufacturer.
    • Develop method of "gauge" evaluation to consider, calibration frequencies, gauge life, fit for purpose, etc
    • Prepare detailed inspection documentation such as written descriptions of inspection results including deviations from engineering specifications and customer specific CMM result reports.
    • Work from written or verbal instructions, detailed engineering drawings, and 3D models
    • Introduction of metrology to support new product introduction
    • Carry out G R & R studies as required.
    • Train QC personnel on use of metrology and best practice when measuring products.
    • Complete and collate measurement data to support new product qualifications
    • Maintain and support compliance to ISO 13485 and ISO 14001 systems standards.

    Requirements

    • Diploma in Quality / Manufacturing / Engineering / Design
    • Proficient in reading / interpreting engineering drawings.
    • Ability to work with Autocad / 3D drawing packages desirable but not essential.
    • Good understanding of statistics and SPC
    • Knowledge of mechanical inspection methods and tools used to determine product acceptance.
    • IT literate, proficient with Microsoft Office incl. Excel
    • Self-motivated, can work on own initiative
