    Senior Income Accountant

    1. JOB PURPOSE

    The Senior Income Accountant ensures accuracy and consistency of Income recognition in a compliant manner across the Group. The Senior Income Accountant supports the business with costings and calculations for tenders and the review of Service Level Agreements to ensure compliance. The Senior Income Accountant is responsible for reconciling funding income streams from Public bodies with actual Service Levels Agreements and ensuring that non-public contracts are supported by signed agreements and all such income is received and properly accounted for by Finance.

    3. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    Job Area

    1.

    Develop detailed costing models to support RFQs, RFTs and other forms of service request proposals across the
    Group in line with Funders requirements.

    2.

    Develop a working relationship with all key stakeholders,
    including Funders, Finance,
    Business Development and HR in order to ensure effective communication.

    3.

    Develop scenario analysis to evaluate different costing options, to ensure the most effective and
    efficient option is included in response to service request proposals.

    4.

    Develop and perform monthly
    income reconciliations
    between expected and actual income streams in
    order to produce monthly reporting and ad hoc reporting.

    5.

    Develop and review procedures in order to evaluate unsuccessful tenders/quotes and building improvements for future submissions, where applicable.

    6.

    Line manage the Assistant Income Accountant to include establishing and recording
    accountable work; providing support and guidance; and identify the
    development needs and opportunities of supervised staff.

    7.

    Develop Income Recognition policies for use throughout the Group

    8.

    Maintain register of all public
    and private contracted SLAs/other contractual arrangements
    across the Group.

    4. KEY DIMENSIONS AND RELATED JOB RESULTS

    Key measurable items will include:

    § Delivery of costing proposals within agreed tight deadlines

    § Development of costing templates in anticipation of all types of costing proposals

    § Monthly income reconciliation

    § Detailed review and analysis of Tender applications and costing proposals.

    § Development of ongoing proposals to Finance, Business Development and Senior Management regarding potential efficiencies to be implemented, thus making proposal outcomes more successful

    § Ongoing review of the implementation of existing Terms and Conditions of operating contracts/SLAs, in conjunction with Operations and Business Development.

    My client:

    A Financial Accountant is responsible for running the accounting and financial activities of an organisation. They analyse the economic stability of the company and provide financial information to other departments, enabling these departments to make budgeting and investment decisions. A Financial Accountant reports on costs, productivity, margins and company expenditures.

    This Financial Accountant will be responsible for tasks such as financial reporting, forecasting, management of credit control as well as having a hands-on approach to assisting the team.

    What will I be doing?


    • Preparing the monthly profit and loss, and balance sheet reports


    • Tax reporting and inventory processing


    • Collecting and analysing data, which is then used in the preparation of weekly and monthly estimates


    • Advising on estimates for project funding


    • Creating KPI reports


    • Preparing weekly cash flow statements, and controlling expenditure and cash flow


    • Assisting with the preparation of year-end accounts and statutory accounts


    • Responding to financial inquiries by gathering and interpreting data


    • Conducting internal audits such as wage reviews


    • Examining financial records to check for accuracy


    • Managing and training staff when necessary

    Qualifications and Skills


    • Part Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CPA, CIMA) is essential and ideally with some post qualification experience


    • Excellent math skills


    • Experienced in bookkeeping


    • Superior attention to detail


    • Ability to work under high time pressure


    • Experienced in MS Office


    • Ability to handle and protect confidential documents

    • Experience with data base accounting and management reporting systems together with working experience in the Financial Services sector would be an advantage
