Position Summary
The SFI Centres programme represents an enormous investment in research in UCC, which impacts very substantially on the support mechanisms and resources of the institution.
These awards represent the single largest state investment in research and the majority of these funds will be managed by UCC. These are national, multi-institutional Centres, with significant industrial engagement, representing huge complexity in terms of their implementation and subsequent management, oversight and reporting requirements.
To ensure the effective post-award implementation of the SFI Centres within UCC, and taking into account the number of awards, the size of the awards and the complexity of the engagements (institutional and industrial) that need to be managed and which are essential to successful implementation, we are currently seeking to appoint a Research Support Officer, in the Finance Office to support the on-going requirements in terms of reporting to SFI, including maintenance of the current and new industry contributions, liaison with other HEls where funds are distributed from a UCC led/co-led Centre and mitigation of the significant auditing risks.
Project Title: SFI Centre Grant Support Roles
