    Fibre Cabling Technician, NBI
    Telecoms ROI Permanent PART 1 : Role Details Role Title Fibre Cabling Technician Department NBI Reports To Fibre Cabling Supervisor Location Midlands PART 2: Role Purpose You will work as part of a small cable gang installing fibre optic cables overhead on pole infrastructure and underground by pulling or blowing the cable.
    This project is part of an overall new FTTH network build across all of rural Ireland.

  • PART 3: Principal Responsibilities
  • Adhere to and maintain compliance with all Health and Safety procedures within your work. Ensuring you are responsible for yourself and/or team members who report into you
  • Install fibre optic cables on existing infrastructure by overhead cable stringing between poles and pulling or blowing cables through subduct or existing ducted sections as per the Book of Standards guidelines and provided training
  • Ensure safe and correct layout and continued compliance of traffic management requirements
  • Access and work on telecoms poles using ladders & steps or MEWP equipment
  • Use hand and power tools competently and safely
  • PART 4: Person Specification Experience
  • Minimum 2 years' experience working at height, installing cable networks in an outdoor setting

  • Ability to read and comprehend technical drawings and instructions
  • Ability to operate communications devices and company vehicles in accordance with company policies
  • Ability to maintain and interpret electronic records of daily work, data recordings and network design maps
