    Description

    Job Title: Assistant Director of Nursing (Forensic Psychiatry)

    Nua Healthcare Services, a leading Private Healthcare Provider in Ireland, seeks an experienced Assistant Director of Nursing with a specialism in Forensic Psychiatry to join their team at a new mental health facility.

    The ideal candidate will have a strong background in psychiatric nursing and management, with a minimum of 5+ years post-qualification experience. They will be responsible for providing high-quality, biopsychosocial informed care for patients with mental disorders, ensuring the highest possible quality and safety standards are maintained.

    Main Responsibilities:

    • To ensure Individual Care Plans (ICPs) are up-to-date and services are delivered to the highest possible quality and safety standards.
    • To be familiar with and adhere to all company policies and procedures.
    • To use company IT systems as instructed and never share passwords or compromise personal data.
    • To act responsibly and co-operate with regulators in the best interests of the service and its users.
    • Maintain the highest level of infection control standards according to company policy and national best practice guidance.

    Clinical Responsibilities:

    • To provide a nursing assessment of patients admitted to the service.
    • To prepare for, participate in, and attend ward rounds and multi-professional meetings.
    • To maintain a high standard of nursing care during procedures and treatments.
    • To ensure patients' rights are maintained and protected under the Mental Health Act.
    • Assist the Director of Nursing in allocating staff awareness of individual care plans and objectives.

    Qualifications and Experience:

    • Registered on, or eligible to be on, the Psychiatric Division of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
    • A minimum of 5+ years post-qualification/registration Psychiatric nursing experience.
    • A minimum of 3+ years relevant experience in a management position within the area of Psychiatric nursing.

    Estimated Salary: €60,000 - €80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
