    Software Engineer IIPosition Overview
    The Data Platform group within the Mastercard Data & Services organization builds common, high-performance, and easy-to-use solutions for data analytics, storage, and orchestration on our platform. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will build high-performance platforms that advance how businesses all over the world unleash the most value from their data. As part of a multidiscipline team, you will design new products to understand and transform data, from front-end visualization of data processes to implementing robust and secure common code for scheduling, data deployment, storage and orchestration. We work in small, flexible teams in a flexible hybrid working model. Every team member contributes to designing, building, and testing features. There are no rigid organizational structures, and each team uses processes that work the best for that team members and projects. What is Data & Services?
    The Data & Services Team (D&S) is a key differentiator for Mastercard. Focused on thinking big and scaling fast around the globe, this team is responsible for end-to-end solutions for a diverse global customer base. We combine our rich data assets and in-house technology to provide our clients with powerful insights and tools to drive fact-based decision making. Centered on data-driven technologies and innovation, our services include economic modeling, smart loyalty and marketing programs, test-and-learn business experimentation, and data-driven information/risk management. While specializing in the payments industry, Mastercard Data & Services also works closely with major retailers, airlines, and other enterprises, leveraging data and insights garnered from within and beyond its network. We are looking for passionate and talented technologists, who share our vision for empowering our customers to make better fact-based decisions, to join us and shape the growth of our team. Position responsibilities:
    As a part of Data & Services, you will build revolutionary products that advance how businesses all over the world seize the most value from their data. As a Senior Software Development Engineer within Data Platform, you will: Shape the vision and UI for a tool that will streamline complex data loads for hundreds of clients
    Design and build secure and reusable data transformation processes
    Design and build APIs for data deployment, identification, and distribution
    Develop and own full stack applications using .NET and modern web development technologies, such as React and Typescript
    Mentor and provide guidance to other team members
    Ideal candidate qualifications:
    Competence in one or more programming languages/technology stacks (our stack is .NET)
    Flexibility to learn and work in different parts of the stack
    Experience having worked on system design problems
    Knowledge of application security principles and best practices
    Technical foundation in full-stack development.
    Proficiency in front end development e.g. React
    Eager to contribute to discussions around UI/UX design
    Interest in improving performance and design of data tools
    Motivation, creativity, self-direction, and desire to thrive on small project teams
    Had you been with us last month, you would have:
    Contributed to the design, development, testing, and rollout of a new data discovery tool which allows client facing products to obtain shared data more quickly and efficiently
    Redesigned parts of the UI of our data orchestration tool to simplify and speed up creation of data orchestration workflows
    Designed new data transformation processes to integrate and process GIS data
    Upgraded connection tools to interface with modern database storage technologies such as S3, allowing the tool to process data from a wider variety of sources
    Refactored our credential management solution for authenticating with client-owned data stores to be more flexible and cut the time required to add support for a new data store technology (e.g. Snowflake, Azure Blobs) while not sacrificing security
