- To present for work in full and proper uniform at the appropriate time.
- Mobility in day to day duties including rotation of tasks within the Catering Area.
- Responsible for the preparation, cooking and punctual service of meals on a rotation basis in the areas as defined in the job specification.
- Maintaining the highest standards of cooking and presentation of food.
- Ensuring the economic use of all foodstuffs and energy.
- To ensure that the Catering Department's operational policies are adhered to.

- Deviations to be reported to the Catering Officer on duty.
- Completion of daily/weekly cleaning schedules.
- Check quality of perishable and non-perishable foods being used.
- Ensure proper use/storage of leftover foods and ensure proper use of foods and other materials
- To maintain strict hygiene practices at all times.
- Practice high standards of personal hygiene including the wearing of proper attire, grooming, gloves etc.
- Knowledge of health and safety/food hygiene regulations and ensure that policies and guidelines are adhered to.
- Ensure that the kitchen and all stores are locked and secured prior to going off duty and be responsible for the safe custody of keys in your charge.
- Responsible for the security of food, equipment and utensils in the work area.
