    Description

    Purpose of the Role:

    HGV driver, transportation of own and 3rd party product to and from customers premises in

    a controlled manner and all other aspects relating to transport. All routes are within the isle

    of Ireland, no trips overseas. There are no overnight stays in cabs, drivers will be planned

    to finish at the depot. Bay to bay deliveries to all the major retailer distribution depots

    in Ireland, no tail lift deliveries. All driver CPC's courses arranged by the company.

    On site training provided.

    Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

    Driving HGV to deliver our product to own customer sites and collecting 3rd products.

    Ensuring POD's/Delivery dockets are signed and returned in a timely manner.

    Dealing with customers on a regular basis and reporting issues back to office.

    Complying with customer rules while on their site(s).

    Washing both trucks and trailers as required or instructed, including the inside to trailers.

    Small repairs and maintenance jobs as required example changing bulbs, steps, checking for oil and water etc.

    Adhoc duties, example van driving, shunting trailers and yard work.

    Multi drop delivery work on behalf of other Keelings business or associated companies.

    Pre-trip and end of day defect reporting.

    Securing of pallets and trollies in trailers / trucks so goods arrive at destination in the same order as loaded.

    Setting up of temperature of fridge units, monitoring and reporting.

    Key Skills & Knowledge

    Good communicator.

    Good knowledge of retail deliveries with in Ireland.

    Good knowledge of refrigerated transport.

    Good team player.

    Essential:

    Full clean EU cat C / C+E driving licence (UK Licences not covered in ROI).

    Up to date digital tachograph card and up to date CPC card.

    Minimum 1 years' experience in driving HGVs.

    Experience in the use refrigerated temperature-controlled vehicles / trailers.

    Experience in container work.

    Required to pass drivers assessment prior to start.

    Required to undergo training prior to start.

    Desirable:

    Experience in yard shunting an advantage but not essential.

    Experience in the use refrigerated temperature-controlled vehicles / trailers.

    Trained in the use of power pallet trucks and forklifts an advantage.

    Mechanical background would be an advantage but not necessary.

    Eco driving training an advantage put not necessary.

    Specific requirements

    Flexibility is required to work outside the normal hours to suit the requirements of the business.

    Start times and days of work could be changed at short notice (on the day).

    Flexibility for days of work.

    Work 4 days over 7 days or night no fixed shift pattern.
