    AmTrust is a global insurance provider offering risk-management solutions and business underwriting tailored to the unique needs of each client. AmTrust International underwrites over $2.5bn of gross written premiums and employs more than 1500 people in 14 countries.

    We are now looking for an experienced Underwriter based within reach of our Dublin office.

    In this role will be responsible for underwriting Property risks across international markets as well as securing new business and ensuring a strong renewal retention of currently held business.

    Essential job functions include:

    • Develop and underwrite a profitable portfolio of Property business taking ownership of performance for allocated accounts.
    • Evaluate appropriate risks by considering the risk costs, reinsurance cessions, capital exposure as well as the underwriting and general administrative costs to ensure profitability, using rating models as applicable.
    • Monitor premiums, costs and performance metrics for all schemes and advise on any remedial actions as appropriate.
    • Foster positive relationships with brokers and clients to get a mutual understanding of both their and AmTrust's needs.

    To be successful in this role you will have proven experience within the underwriting sector, some knowledge of Property risk within the Irish and / or the international market would be beneficial. Strong analytical assessment skills and familiarity with industry working is a much as is a collaborative tea focused work ethic and strong verbal and written communication skills.
