    Health Care Assistant

    Purpose of the Role:

    The Health Care Assistant will engage in daily activities and routines of the residential service, including direct support to residents, administrative work, and household tasks as required.

    This role is part of a dedicated team within Residential Services, providing 24/7 care to individuals with complex needs in accordance with HIQA regulations and standards.

    Main Responsibilities:

    • Assist with resident activities and care as assigned by the Manager and outlined in the integrated care plan, ensuring high-quality care delivery.
    • Encourage individual recognition and prioritize the needs and comforts of residents and their families.
    • Act as an advocate for residents and families, providing relevant information and support.
    • Foster social interaction for residents individually and in group settings.
    • Maintain awareness of equipment usage, safety precautions, and handling procedures.
    • Participate in communication processes, including team meetings, staff forums, and documentation.
    • Provide personal care to residents when required.
    • Maintain confidentiality for the organization and residents at all times.
    • Be flexible and willing to work shifts to meet the needs of the service.
