    PKF has ambitious growth plans for the next 5 years. Due to these ambitious growth plans an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Tax Manager to join the newly established Waterford office of PKF. The Tax Manager will be a key member of the newly established Waterford tax team. The Tax Manager will work directly with the Tax Partners and Tax Directors in building out the Waterford tax team, leading and managing assignments won and developing and managing teams.

    Working directly with the Tax Director, the role will offer the right candidate excellent career progression and the chance to manage a newly established team, develop their tax knowledge, work on projects and advisory assignments.

    What you will be doing:

    You can expect to be a key member of our tax team providing the following services:

  • Manage the provision, production, and review of corporate tax services to a challenging and varied client portfolio of companies including clients involved in international trade, renewable energy, aircraft leasing, retail industry and high net-worth private clients.
  • Advising on Irish domestic and international corporate tax matters.
  • Work with the corporate finance team on due diligence assignments on the purchase/sale of companies/assets.
  • Liaise with other teams in the audit/business services on tax-related matters.
  • Develop and maintain business relationships and market profile, both in the wider market and through our international networks.
  • Work as part of a multi-disciplinary team including tax, advisory and accounting specialists.
  • Manage the day-to-day running of the tax team.
  • Mentor, coach, and train junior staff members.

  • Who are we looking for?

  • You are AITI / CTA qualified (or equivalent).
  • You have at least 3 post-qualification taxation experience.
  • Ability to manage and develop junior members of the team.
  • Excellent organisational and planning capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent project management skills with commitment to meet tight deadlines.
  • Commercially astute with strong business acumen.
  • Effective communication skills, including report writing.
  • Ability to work both on your own initiative and within a team environment.
