    Description

    Job Title: Production Operative

    Our client works in the circular economy sector with a vision to be a world leader in improving the sustainability of plastics by developing innovative solutions and technologies that add value and create a better environment for future generations.

    Responsibilities

    General Duties

    • Manage the feed of material at the start of the line so that there is a
      consistent flow of material to the shredder
    • Escalate any concerns as to the quality of the raw material to Lead
      Operator/Production Supervisor/Quality Manager
    • Complete periodic quality tests on all materials to include but not limited to
      colour, IV and fluorescence
    • Manage the input of raw material so that the daily blend targets set for that
      production run are achieved
    • Manage the bagging and output of finished material at the end of the line
      ensuring the capacity of the bags/containers is optimised
    • Manage the removal, labelling and storage of reject material away from the
      line
    • Implement changes to raw material input as instructed by the Production
      Supervisor or Quality Manager
    • Ensure a thorough handover is completed before and at the conclusion of
      the shift to ensure that transitions are managed smoothly and effectively
    • Operator Counterbalance Forklift and Clamp Truck in a safe manner
    • Maintain a high level of housekeeping on the production floor
    • To actively take part in Continuous Improvement on site - e.g. 6S
    • To ask, if in doubt, about any particular practice or unusual finding.
    • Participate in relevant training and upskilling as required
    • This is not an exhaustive list and you may be asked to carry out other duties as required by the business.

    Quality & Production Controls

    • Escalating concerns about the quality of raw materials
    • Addressing any health & safety concerns
    • Escalating issues with the finished product
    • Achieving blend target
    • Maximizing bag and container weights
    • All waste created is weighed, recorded, and managed correctly
    • Capturing Lab color results as agreed with the Quality Engineer and
      responding to changes in the color values in line with the procedure

    Supporting Health & Safety

    • Follow and promote best practice Health & Safety standards and practices
      throughout every job you do and with each department, you work in.
    • Monitoring and management of personal safety measures

    Leadership tasks

    • Step into positions of other team members, if requested.

    Requirements

    • Leaving Certificate or equivalent. Third-level education is desirable.
    • Two years of production experience is beneficial.
    • Two years of forklift driving experience is beneficial.
    • Excellent Team Player
    • Flexibility to work on and off shift as required
    • MS Suite beneficial
    • Must speak English
