    Overview

    An exciting opportunity has arisen to fill the position of Group Strategy Manager, reporting to the Deputy Chief Governance & Strategy Officer. The main purpose of this role is to develop and coordinate daa's Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) programme, assist in the implementation of the group-level strategic plan, and oversee the corporate affairs agenda.

    The successful candidate will have a particular focus in the period on the development and evolution of daa's ESG strategy, ensuring its delivery and growth to meet both stakeholder expectations and legislative requirements. There will also be a wide range of critical and varied strategic issues and this position will engage with senior levels across the business.

    This is a one-year contract full time position, commencing in May 2024. This role will be appointed on a personal contract basis.

    Qualifications

    • Third level qualification, ideally in strategy, finance, or business-related discipline.
    • >5 years managerial experience is desirable.
    • Strong leadership and analytical skills.
    • Ability to effectively communicate, influence and challenge.
    • Ability to develop, plan, and implement short and long-term goals.
    • Ability to work well with, and influence, large and senior groups – as well as to work well independently.
    • Ability to manage diverse work-streams, prioritise effectively and work to shifting deadlines.
    • Understanding/experience of strategic planning and performance management approaches/methodologies would be an advantage.

    Responsibilities

    • Create a compelling, strategic roadmap for daa's Environmental, Social & Governance (ESG) programme
      • Contribute to, take accountability for, and coordinate the development of ESG strategy content including options, analysis, and outcomes.
      • Deliver robust, comprehensive materials through each stage of strategy development.
      • Prepare high quality presentations and recommendations for Executive and Board.
      • Project manage the process including managing a team and engaging across the business to ensure alignment.
    • Coordinate and drive the implementation of the ESG programme of work
      • Raise daa's level of ESG maturity
      • Provide structure to ensure governance of ESG practices
      • Prepare for enhanced ESG reporting requirements, in particular on the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive.
      • Provide leadership on social elements to achieve a cohesive daa standpoint.
    • Coordinate and drive implementation of the corporate strategy across the business
      • Lead the annual planning process to facilitate identification of key priorities in line with the corporate strategy and ensure the business and senior leaders are appropriately focused on delivery against the strategic priorities.
      • Monitor compliance with strategic goals via regular reporting to Executive and Board.
      • Support, challenge and add meaningful contribution to strategic issues.
    • Lead daa's corporate affairs plan
      • Engage on legislative, regulatory and policy developments at EU and national level that have the potential to bring opportunities/risks for daa.
      • Manage delivery of robust plans for key political and stakeholder engagement.
      • Ensure daa's positions are reflected accurately to identified audiences.
      • Monitor the political and policy landscape and inform an internal audience on the potential implications for daa.
      • Prepare and review submissions to consultation processes on behalf of the business to articulate policy positions.
    • Act as a strategic consultant to the business and develop, coordinate, and deliver projects as identified.
    • Embody daa's Leadership Standard and Values in leading a team to deliver high quality output, managing team members' performance, and ensuring their development.
