- Managing the growth & development of the CoE team.
- Support senior management in the recruitment and interview process to build a successful Centre of Excellence team.
- Monitor team workload for efficiencies where achievable and work consistently towards a streamlined team output with a main goal of shortening the quarter end close period.
- Create and measure KPI's for each team member individually and the team as a whole.
- Provide regular feedback sessions with the Team & perform Annual Reviews as well as set goals & objectives in line with Company Objectives
- Create a positive working atmosphere through a supportive and motivational management approach.
- Ensure that the appropriate support is provided to the various Workstream owners.
- Work with the SAP RAR Module to support ASC 606 Accounting.
- Maintain controls over Revenue Account reconciliation activities including monitoring & evaluation of any reconciling items being reported at period ending.
- Ensuring adequate reconciliation and proper support of balances exists.
- Focus on SOX controls and in particular IT related controls for new systems, processes and business models
- Ability to manage/support complex projects under tight deadlines.
- Preparation and presentation of training material.
- Internal & External Audit support for multiple countries.
- Support Digital Transformation in the Revenue Area.
- Ad-hoc support or reporting requests from Senior Management.
- Qualified accountant (CIMA, ACCA or CPA) +5 PQE.
- Highly organised, self-motivated, team player with excellent ability to diplomatically challenge existing structures and support transformation.
- Feels comfortable presenting formally and informally information to senior management.
- Comfortable within a changing environment, enthusiastic and energetic.
- Strong knowledge of control frameworks and best in class processes
- Experience in leading teams and mentoring and motivating staff.
- US GAAP knowledge desirable with a focus on ASC606
- Experience of using an ERP system preferably SAP
- Strong Excel required / Comfortable in dealing with large volumes of data/Strong Data Analytical skills
- Automation experience desirable
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to liaise professionally with a diverse group (executives, managers and subject matter experts)

About the Opportunity
This role is for a Revenue Accounting Team Manager within the Revenue Operations Department. As Avaya is working through a finance and digital transformation process, this role will focus on building, developing & leading a Centre of Excellence team whereby all members will aim to become subject matter experts and support various workstreams. This is a full-time position which will allow the successful candidate to develop, learn new skills and lead change in a dynamic environment.
