    Purpose:

    The purpose of the role of Sr. Manager, Safety Management - RDMC is to provide leadership and supervision for safety management associates. This includes but is not limited to data collection/input; safety reporting, compliance and oversight activities. The Sr. Manager will drive and support operations in Cork ensuring successful integration and alignment to global organizational strategy and deliverables in collaboration with other GPS regional centers.

    Primary Responsibilities:

    Leadership and management of personnel

  • Ensure the team delivers high quality work with focus on efficiency and aligned to organizational strategies and goals.
  • Lead, motivate, and guide direct reports to ensure appropriate objectives and personal development plans.
  • Recruit talented resources and maintain strong technical expertise in the team to meet current and future business needs including talent management and succession planning.
  • Ensure adverse event data is accurate, complete, and available for analysis, monitoring, and safety evaluation for all Lilly products.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and leadership across regional centers for coordinated and consistent approach to people and process management.
  • Support and drive continuous improvement within the team and broader organization of SMRD/GPS.
  • Maintain an inclusive and innovative culture aligned to Team Lilly values and expectations.
  • Quality and Compliance Management

  • Ensure that team is appropriately qualified and trained for tasks that they are required to perform.
  • Monitor quality, compliance and productivity metrics for personnel and collaborate with Cork and global functional leadership for any concerns and continuous improvement.
  • Develop good understanding of the roles and responsibilities of the European Union Qualified Person for pharmacovigilance (QPPV) and ensure support is provided to fulfil the QPPV legal responsibilities.
  • Ensure quality systems and procedures are in place and adhered to, and sound pharmacovigilance and technical knowledge is utilized to provide our customers with valuable quality data.
  • Facilitate the promotion of quality improvements and recommendation of process changes as needed.
  • Support global and site audits/inspections.
  • Technical Expertise and Accountability

  • Demonstrate good clinical judgement, critical thinking, and regulatory knowledge and contribute to deliverables covered in the job description for safety associate, the extent of contribution being driven by business and internal needs.
  • Stay updated on process/procedural/regulatory changes and build good knowledge of Lilly products.
  • Support cross-functional activities/projects for safety management as well as the broader SMRD/GPS organization.
  • Minimum Qualification Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Healthcare/Life Science or equivalent demonstrated experience.
  • Ability to lead, motivate and coach to nurture talent and engagement.
  • Understanding of drug development or pharmacovigilance with at least 1 year of industry experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication with ability to influence and collaborate across geographies.
  • Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Windows XP).
  • Proactive and result oriented with ability to prioritize and multi-task.
  • Other Information/Additional Preferences:

  • Previous management experience in patient safety or related field and within a global environment.
  • Project management skills
