    Staff Grade Occupational Therapist

    We are seeking a motivated occupational therapist with some experience in primary care to work in a community-based setting, supporting adults with a range of physical, functional, and cognitive challenges.

    As part of the Primary Care team, you will play a key role in assessing, planning, and implementing interventions that enhance independence and promote well-being. You will have the opportunity to work closely with clients and their families, developing tailored treatment plans that address their unique needs.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Provide comprehensive occupational therapy assessments and interventions to adults in the community.
    • Develop and implement individualised treatment plans focused on functional independence and improving quality of life.
    • Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, including physiotherapists, speech and language therapists, and social workers, to ensure a holistic approach to patient care.
    • Conduct home environment assessments and provide recommendations for adaptations and assistive devices.
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records, ensuring compliance with HSE guidelines and best practices.
    • Participate in service development initiatives, contributing to the ongoing improvement of primary care services.

    Essential Criteria:

    • Recognised qualification in Occupational Therapy
    • CORU registration (or eligibility for registration)
    • Some experience working in a primary care setting
    • Strong communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills
    • Commitment to evidence-based practice and ongoing professional development
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team

    Desirable:

    • Experience working with adults with physical, sensory, or cognitive impairments
    • Knowledge of assistive technology and home adaptations
    • Experience delivering group-based interventions or health promotion programs
