    Probation 6 months

    Finance Department

    Clúid has a highly professional Finance team led by the Chief Finance Officer. The work of the Finance Team covers four areas: Procurement, Finance Operations, Risk Assurance and Treasury & Corporate Finance.

    The Finance Department provides a range of services in support of Clúid's primary mission "providing quality housing and services to enable people to create homes and thriving communities". The Finance team works across the organisation to provide financial information to support decision making at an operational and strategic level.

    Clúid operates in a highly regulated environment, the Finance team manage regulatory compliance with both the Charities Regulator CRA and the Housing Regulator AHBRA, in addition to key funding partners and other stakeholders.

    Role: Finance Planning Manager

    Role Overview: The Finance Planning Manager is an additional role in the Corporate Finance & Treasury team, joining the wider team of 6. As Finance Planning, you will work with the Head of Corporate Finance and Treasury to

    • Develop future corporate growth plans, interacting with the business to ensure sustainable growth of the organisation.
    • Design and maintain financial modelling tools to assist the organisation in business decisions and financial strategy.
    • Evaluate the financial and commercial analysis of potential property schemes, projects and partnerships.

    A key element of this role is the utilisation of existing Clúid data and external data to derive better future planning. You will engage and collaborate with all aspects of the business to provide financial information and reporting to assist in the key financial decisions to be made in the future. The successful candidate will ideally have a background in rapid growth environments along with management or cost accounting experience. The candidate should have excellent financial modelling and data management skills.

    Reporting to: Head of Corporate Finance & Treasury

    Key responsibilities

    Business Planning

    • Support the business in the development of integrated business plans across all functions.
    • Identify and clarify the main drivers of the business plan and ensure they are reflected accurately within the 30-year plan and the key initial year inputs including by working with the Commercial Development department to analysis trends and forecast delivery.
    • Provide strong and in-depth analysis and commentary around business plans to give leadership a view on the strength of the business plan and alignment to overall corporate strategy.
    • Collaborate with the wider business to define, develop, and implement business planning processes; bringing together various functions of the business (e.g., HR, Commercial Development, Operations, IT, etc) to ensure the planning process & outputs are maintained, robust and thorough.
    • Inform decision making through developing solutions, roadmaps and assessment of potential business impact.
    • Understand the local market and business environment that Clúid is operating within ensuring the context of the plan is understood.
    • Identifying and assessing new funding structures and changes to existing funding structures.
    • Maintain an in-depth knowledge of the market dynamics including competitor analysis, market share, demographic trends, and growth projections.

    Project Assessments

    • Assist Commercial Development with the development of new proposals, bringing a detailed commercial understanding of the existing business opportunities and the financial suitability of new proposals and collaborate to deliver solutions.
    • Develop and maintain appropriate models to assist the business in preparing proposals around new activities or changes to existing ways of working. This includes ensuring appropriate KPI metrics are being used and updated.
    • Work with the Commercial Development department to understand the constraints of current funding models at scheme and pipeline levels and assist in devising processes and solutions that address these where possible.
    • Bring a commercial focus to the evolution of the business.

    Business Performance

    • Assist the wider finance team during the budget and budget forecast processes.
    • Assist in developing an action plan where departments are deviating from the business plan.
    • Assist in the presentation of the review of business planning to the Executive team through meaningful and detailed commentary.

    Other

    • Assist the Chief Finance Officer and Head of Corporate Finance & Treasury with additional reporting/projects as required.
    • Represent Clúid externally as required.
    • Maintain and further develop key internal/external business relationships.
