    Description

    Job Summary:

    The Alameda County Fire Department is seeking Reserve Firefighters to join their team. As a Reserve Firefighter, you will participate in training and experience in fire prevention and suppression techniques. You will respond to emergency and non-emergency calls to prevent or extinguish fires and protect life and property.

    Responsibilities:

    • Participate in assigned Alameda County Fire Reserve Program meetings and training
    • Respond to emergency and non-emergency incidents to assist professional firefighters
    • Clean and maintain station quarters, classroom, grounds, apparatus, and equipment
    • Actively participate in the Alameda County Fire Department Public Education Program

    Requirements:

    • Possession of a valid California State Motor Vehicle Operator's License
    • Successful background investigation
    • Maintenance of a current Candidate Physical Agility Test (CPAT)
    • Age: at least 18 years old
    • Physical: pass a medical examination (NFPA 1582) prior to attending the ACFD Reserve Academy
    • Residency: live within Alameda County or 50 miles travel distance to the Alameda County Fire Department Administrative Headquarters
