    We are looking for an Environmental, Health and Safety Officer Job Specialist who will provide the company with all the EHS procedures and policies, correct training and updates to deliver best practice across the business.

    The position will be located in Dundalk, Ireland.

    Main tasks and responsibilities

  • Meet all EHS legal obligations on behalf of the company
  • Report all accidents/incidents to the HSA and any environmental spill or incident to the EPA as per their guidelines
  • Overall ownership of the investigation and appropriate close outs of all incidents accidents and near misses
  • Responsible for all EHS risk assessments being carried out and maintained
  • Accountable for all chemical hazard management and disposal on site
  • Investigating accidents, incidents, or near misses to determine root causes.
  • Conducting regular inspections and audits of facilities, equipment, and processes
  • Developing emergency response plans and coordinating drills to ensure that employees are prepared to respond effectively to emergencies such as fires, chemical spills, or natural disasters
  • Maintaining accurate records of safety data, incident reports, training documentation, and regulatory permits
  • Creating, updating, and enforcing safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards
  • Conducting training sessions and workshops to educate employees on safety protocols, emergency procedures, and regulatory requirements
  • Deliver good quality SSOW (Safe Systems of Work) which fully reflect the SOPs ( Standard Operating Procedures) and work instructions in all areas
  • Responsible for all contractor and visitor safety on site and the inductions and review of their Safety statement, EHS Plan, Risk assessment, training certificates, etc.
  • Maintain all EHS audits through CIMS quality system through IS and ISO 45001
  • Advisor to the company on the safety of new products and designs especially in relation to ergonomics
  • Development of efficient waste management programmes in line with sourcing and logistics
  • Maintain all required training records of all EHS training and first aid.
  • What you'll need to succeed

  • Degree or Diploma in Health, Safety and Environment
  • Certificate Environmental sciences or technical sciences
  • Train the trainer
  • ISO 14001 & ISO 45001(Desirable).
  • 3+ years EHS experience working in a manufacturing environment or high risk industry in particular confined spaces welding VOCs
  • Working knowledge of Lean 6
  • Proven experience of managing serious incidents/accidents
  • Ideally knowledge of Occupational Health physiotherapy and ergonomics
  • Excellent analytical skills and familiar with excel/google sheets/risk management systems.
  • Familiarity with all types of risk assessment
  • Strong project management skills, critical thinking and decision making
  • Flexibility in travel, work hours, tasks and responsibilities ensuring adaptation to production cycles.
  • English requirement: Excellent spelling and report skills
