    Job Summary


    Zurich Life Assurance is looking for an Actuarial Operations Analyst to work as part of the Service Delivery Support Team within Actuarial Operations. In this role you will report to the Actuarial Operations Team Lead.

    The SDS team provides help to Operational teams by way of completing policy calculations, providing product knowledge where necessary and monitoring of Life400 for known issues. The successful candidate will have suitable mathematical ability – however, there is no requirement to complete the actuarial exams as part of this role.

    Your Role


    The responsibilities of the successful candidate will include but not necessarily limited to the below:


    • Processing requests received from Operations e.g. backdated values/values for policies that are on the Manual Policy Database

    • Analysing the output of regular queries to highlight policies which need intervention in order to ensure that policy processing acts within the policy terms and conditions

    • Assisting in maintaining the manual policy database

    • Calculating and applying corrections to policies where appropriate

    • Assist in confirming that operational systems, processes and controls are delivering outcomes in line with policy terms & conditions and actuarial practice standards specified by the Chief Actuary;

    • Identify and escalate emerging issues with operational systems and processes;

    • Assist in proposing practical solutions to address emerging issues; both systematic and one-off;

    • Assist in calculations for large fix up projects where appropriate

    • Maintain, automate and improve existing processes

    • Working with the rest of Actuarial Operations and Operations teams; in particular Service Quality to improve service quality and the operational risk & control environment

    • Ensuring quality and integrity of data inputs to Finance, Actuarial and other 'second-line of defence' users of company data;

    • Be a key team member of a cohesive, professional & informed team, keeping customer outcome as the focus

    Your Skills and Experience


    Your skills and qualifications will include:

    TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES

    • A relevant degree or postgraduate qualification in a course with reasonably strong mathematical content or industry related content

    • Good knowledge of both current and historic products, particularly the detailed operation of products on Life400

    • Detailed knowledge of current operational practices

    • Excellent knowledge of Life400

    • Strong numeracy and analytical skills, problem solving and 'thinking outside the box' abilities

    • Good working knowledge of Excel

    NON TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES

    • Excellent accuracy and attention to detail

    • Excellent interpersonal skills

    • Be well organised and capable of working to tight deadlines

    • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing

    • Highly motivated quick learner, with a commitment to developing a culture of curiosity and accountability

    • Be enthusiastic and keen to providing top quality service with the aim to improving the end-to-end experience of dealing with Zurich for customers and brokers

    Additional Information


    Primary work location is Blackrock. Position is Dublin-based but occasional travel may be required to other

    Zurich locations.
