    Description

    Our client, a manufacturing company based in Cavan require an Accountant for a temporary 9 month contract.

    Responsibilities include:

    • The Accountant is responsible for consulting any SOP's for any job task he/she may carry out and ensure they fully understand and adhere to the SOP.
    • Housekeeping is a critical function of all jobs and the Accountant is expected to ensure all housekeeping activities in their work area are observed and carried out appropriately.
    • Ensure accounting practices are in compliance with company policy and regulatory policies.
    • Assess information within the Finance Department and outside of finance and identify opportunities for Plant improvements.
    • Proactive management of labour hours and headcount related activities for the site including FP&A activities related to Headcount and labour costs.
    • Complete relevant Revenue/CSO returns.
    • Ensure month end reporting is carried out efficiently and in line with agreed timetable.
    • Management of inventory including but not limited to cycle count audits, tracking, reporting and controlling.
    • Assist Controller in Plan/LBE preparation including but not limited to responsibility for population and submission of Balance sheet reports to corporate and data analysis of all areas v Prior year and Prior LBE.
    • Ensure all monthly reconciliations and journals are prepared and approved.
    • Develop a schedule for internal audits and oversee completion of same to ensure compliance with policies & procedures
    • Provide financial support to other departments to assist in goal achievements.
    • Carry out other assignments/projects as directed by the Controller.

    Education and Experience:

    • Professional qualification or part qualification in accountancy.
    • 2 to 3 years' experience in a similar role.
    • Excellent communication & interpersonal skills
    • Good analytical and problem solving skills required.
