    Position Overview

    Position Summary

    The Vision Care Production Planning Director will develop a team of managers / planners across multiple regions/sites and is accountable for the Production Planning including Capacity management both short and long term, Supply S&OP, site planning processes (Reliability of supply, MPS attainment, Schedule attainment, etc.) for both internal and external manufacturing supporting the Vision Care business (Contact Lens, Myopia, CEH).

    This role operates and governs the site planning processes for Vision Care, is responsible for the vital metrics, reports and processes as well as maintains close relationships with customer-facing functions and the E2E planning team to best anticipate, sense and support customer needs.

    Collaborates with Site leaders, Engineering, Product Management, Quality and R&D to ensure accurate inputs are managed for Capacity Planning.

    Responsible for developing teams and leaders to build E2E capabilities, improve supply chain effectiveness, drive performance, primarily through excellent technical ability, mentor and leadership and benchmark leveraging.

    Major Duties & Responsibilities

    • Champions the development of leadership and planning capabilities across the Supply Chain Planning organization aligned with CREDO behaviors, diversity/inclusion, and leadership imperatives.
    • Governs the cyclical S&OP processes and reviews with the appropriate Management Boards.
    • Triggers off-cycle S&OP meetings for specific events that require an E2E Supply Chain review in partnership with the E2E Planning team.
    • Drives service/ inventory performance across the sites with direct accountability for planning and product flows from suppliers, to manufacturing facilities through delivery of product. Develops and leads internal/external supply strategies aligned with customer/business goals resulting in cash value improvements through E2E scenario planning & optimization processes & modeling.
    • Champion supply reliability and agility journey for the sites to deliver proactive service and risk mitigation. Drive consistent processes inside the sites ensuring proper management of key projects to deliver growth objectives.
    • Develop & mentor your own talent, ensure pipeline of leaders and robust succession plans keeping Diversity, Equity and Inclusion as priority.
    • Develops and governs Supply S&OP policies, standards, guidelines, technology and procedures.
    • Responsible for maintaining senior leader engagement in the S&OP process to ensure that decisions are taken within the process.
    • Responsible for driving business decisions on tradeoffs including customer service and finance.
    • Project SLOB and minimize SLOB expense.
    • Recommend cost improvement projects that would drive down network inventory requirements or plant efficiencies.
    • Work with the NPI groups to understand future requirements and help the plants work towards vital capabilities.
    • Partner with procurement to drive supplier performance improvements including quality and timely delivery and building strategic alliances with key suppliers.
    • Ensure reviews occur with these key suppliers on a regular basis, the supply plans and performance of each of them, define improvement projects and work towards seamless integration.
    • Manages collaborate with external partners, ensures effective flow of SC planning information between J&J and external partners.
    • Responds to critical issues and ensures cross functional support to meet unforeseen demand & supply issues.
    • Drives implementation of standard methodologies in supply planning, including master and detailed scheduling, capacity planning and utilizes process excellence/ six sigma tools to drive continuous improvement of SC processes.
    • Responsible for input into the Long-Term Capacity Process & long-term supply modeling.
    • Determines planning capability needs and implements people development strategies that ensure continual improvement in business results.
    • Responsible for identifying areas to improve supply chain effectiveness and performance.
    • Provides input to contract development to drive appropriate contracting language to support supply chain agility and responsiveness.

    Travel on the Job:

    15% (Domestic and International)

    Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    • Significant understanding of standard methodology in supply chain/production planning/materials management.
    • Demonstrates expertise in developing and maintaining strategic partnerships with suppliers to drive alignment with J&J's business goals and objectives.
    • Demonstrates ability to apply cutting edge business case approaches and gain consensus on major decisions to support the business case.
    • Visualizes future state of the JJSC org. using multiple data sources and leads problem-solving efforts across geographies through innovative approaches and conclusions.
    • Experience in medical devices, healthcare, or pharmaceutical company is preferred.
    • Green Belt Six Sigma Certifications & Supply Chain Certification (APICS/ IBF) is preferred.

    Works closely with Manufacturing, Engineering, Finance, and Supply Chain Value Stream Leadership to orchestrate profitable supply plans across annual business planning and strategic horizons.

    External

    Partners with procurement and key suppliers to support supply plans across annual business planning and strategic horizons.

    Required

    Education:

    • Bachelor's degree is required. A focus on Business, Finance, Logistics, Operations or Engineering is preferred.

    Experience:

    10+ Years related experience.

    4 + years people leadership experience Direct Reports: 4-5, Indirect Reports: ~20

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

    • Advanced technical or business degree. MBA in a related field is a plus.
    • Extensive Experience in Lean and Process Transformation.
    • Ability to develop, coach and guide a leadership team in the execution, strategies and realization of functional and company goals.
    • Ability to coach & develop accountable, diverse and global leaders who inspire and empower others.
    • Ability to forge collaboration across all levels of the enterprise & externally.
    • A strong communicator with to communicate clearly, making the sophisticated clear and compelling to all levels of the organization in both written & oral forms.
    • The ability to influence at all levels both within the Supply Chain, in a matrix environment and externally.
    • In-depth knowledge of ERP systems, SAP/APO/SNP or equivalent and processes is preferred.
    • Familiarity with relevant legislation – e.g. Import/ Export legislation, GMP, ISO requirements is desirable.
    • Demonstrates deep knowledge of standard methodologies and benchmarks, corporate objectives, and resource availability to ID and prioritize continuous improvement projects.
    • Applies deep knowledge of supply planning process and understanding of business / financial goals to provide strategic direction to the supply planning function.
