    We're looking for a

    Reserving Analyst

    Based in Bermuda and reporting to the Vice President, Reserving, this newly created role will contribute and add value to the Actuarial team and to Hamilton groupwide through supporting reserving analysis as well as specific project-based work.

    What you will do
    • Assist in producing appropriate actuarial reserving estimates of appropriate levels of IBNR, and analysis in the uncertainty around the central estimate. This includes the interpretation and communication of suitable recommendations from the analysis
    • Assist in the maintaining and upgrading the existing actuarial and statistical models, and to research, development and implement of new actuarial and statistical models
    • Development and embedment of in-house reserving process
    • Maintain data and records
    • Assist in the production, interpretation and clear communication of the analysis to support ad-hoc projects.
    • Analysis of claims trends to predict the likely outcomes
    • Support the future development of the Reserving Actuarial function and any associated business development work.
    • Contribute to projects relating to the capital modelling and risk management functions
    • Review underwriting data and statistics for the purpose of reserving and business planning.
    • Responsibility for producing reserve estimates and maintain reserving platform
    • Support various other projects within the reserving and actuarial teams (e.g. claims inflation, reinsurance solutions, claims performance metrics and reserving trend analysis).
    What you require for the role
    • Demonstrable progression towards actuarial designation with two or more actuarial exams passed (CAS or equivalent)
    • At least two years' experience in a similar reserving role in the reinsurance industry
    • Demonstrable ability to effectively communicate reserving and analytical findings
    • Experience with programming in VBA, SQL, R and Python beneficial
    • Familiarity with Catastrophe and Risk aggregation models
    • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
    • Technical expertise & capabilities within your field
