    DATA PROTECTION OFFICER

    Our client, an Educational Institution is looking to hire a Data Protection Officer on a full time temporary contract until the 30th September 2024.

    Provide expert assistance and advice in the Office of Corporate and Legal Affairs particularly in the area of data protection. Providing data protection assistance to Data Protection Officer.

    The GDPR Officer will be responsible for assisting the DPO on advice on personal data management, personal data information management matters, and corporate affairs.

    1. Overseeing, advising and coordination on the completion of required personal data protection impact assessments as directed by the DPO.
    2. Assisting the DPO on data protection matters or requests as directed by the DPO.
    3. Assistance with data protection audits as capacity permits as directed by the DPO.
    4. Send and receive data protection related correspondence on behalf of the University where required.
    5. Analysis of emerging legislation relevant to the University sector and advising the client in relation to same.

    Essential Skills Required

    · A Data Protection/Information Management Professional or similar professional qualification.

    • NFQ level 8 degree in a relevant field.
    • Relevant experience or equivalent experience dealing with a varied mix of data protection/privacy/information management matters.
    • Experience or equivalent experience in advising on personal data protection and information management and managing matters relating to personal data protection and information management through their life cycle.
    • A record of project management skills.
    • Demonstrable communication, presentation, project management, negotiation, influencing and drafting skills.
    • Demonstrable excellent IT skills.
    • Excellent interpersonal, time management and conflict resolution skills.

    · Excellent IT skills with proficiency in M/S Office suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) and SharePoint
