    About the opportunity:

    Our Town Planning team sits within Water and Environment Operating Unit - a unit with over 2,000 professionals covering over 30 disciplines across Ireland and the UK over a wide range of infrastructure projects to reinvent tomorrow.

    Due to the continued growth of our town planning services in our Dublin office we are looking for a Principal Town Planner to support and develop our increasing portfolio of projects.

    We offer planning advice and solutions across the company's full portfolio of high-profile infrastructure projects including BusConnects, the Water Supply Project as well as a range of projects working for EirGrid, the NTA, the LDA and Irish Water.

    Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Technical direction of projects within the team
  • Develop client relationships and develop new opportunities for Town Planning Work
  • Coordination of consent applications (including planning applications and Strategic Infrastructure Development)
  • Help develop the wider team through mentoring and management
  • Working collaboratively with clients and colleagues to meet shared objectives
  • Preparation and management of a wide range of reports, including appeals, development plan and other submissions, planning appraisals and Environmental Impact Assessment Reports
  • Analysis of legislation, national and local planning policy to guide client proposals and facilitating successful consenting
  • Supporting the development of strong customer relationships and delivering client-focused solutions
  • Here's What You'll Need:
  • A recognised planning qualification (IPI or RTPI)
  • A sound knowledge of Irish town planning legislation and practice including their application through infrastructure projects, policies and programmes
  • An ability to identify relevant environmental, social and economic policy and legislation and use it to scope and develop appropriate consenting routes
  • Experience of bidding/tendering for internal and external opportunities and strong commercial awareness
  • Experience of Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and how it applies to major development projects
