We have an exciting opportunity for a Laboratory Process Technician. The position will be based in Carrigtwohill Wastewater Treatment Plant. Duties include; Optimization work in drinking water and wastewater processes. Working with Mechanical and/or electrical items of equipment. Process monitoring and completing record sheets and taking process samples. Laboratory work. Laboratory tests include BOD, COD, suspended solids, turbidity and other standard water and wastewater analysis techniques. Role ranges from process control and monitoring to basic mechanical maintenance. Data analysis and generation of technical reports.

The role requires a good knowledge of software packages such as Word and Excel Compliance monitoring of contractual & water discharge licence emission limit values as well as other environmental monitoring such as odour and noise.

Maintenance of analysis schedules including liaising with site operators and external laboratories. Ordering equipment, chemicals and other consumables. Manual work may be required from time to time. The role requires work outside on occasions in all weather conditions. Flexibility with hours of work is vital for this role. Skills required; Experience in wastewater treatment plant and/or drinking water treatment plant environment (Ideally 3+ years) Laboratory testing background.

Ability to plan, prioritise and effectively manage time, meet strict deadlines and work to high standard, both on own initiative and as part of a team.

Advanced PC skills such as Excel and Word. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Full clean driving licence.
