Bed Manager (CNM Grade)

Description:

The Bed Manager will support the multidisciplinary team by scheduling, daily admissions, and coordination of bed management. The role involves developing rapport with critical stakeholders, ensuring adherence to referral, admissions, and discharge processes, conducting clinical assessments, allocating patients to appropriate wards/beds, and monitoring bed occupancy.

Responsibilities:

• Developing relationships with residents/patients, facilitating autonomy, informed choice, and evidence-based decision-making
• Promoting and maintaining resident/patient safety, respecting privacy, dignity, and rights
• Delegating tasks and duties appropriately, taking into account staff experience, competence, role, and scope of practice
• Working towards a restraint-free environment, implementing practices in accordance with the National Policy

Requirements:

• A registered General Nurse or Psychiatric Nurse on the Register of Nurses held by Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland or be entitled to be so registered
• Evidence of continuous professional development
• Desirable qualifications: Post Graduate Diploma in Gerontology, Management qualifications, Gerontology experience, Experience in Psycho Geriatric Nursing Care/Psychiatry/Adult Disabled
• IT skills, including knowledge of organisation of health services and trends nationally and internationally, professionalism in applying theory to daily practices, critical thinking, ability to source information, and recognise shortfalls or limitations of competencies

Salary:

$60,000 - $80,000 per annum, depending on experience
