    Description

    Health and Safety:

  • Responsible for ensuring compliance to local law and best practices around Hazardous storage.
  • Ensures, in accordance with the Corporate guidelines, the implementation, updating, review and auditing of the Company HSE Systems.
  • Work with Senior Management to ensure HSE Policy and Guidelines are followed.
  • Work with Senior Management with HSE Management Systems including review of what systems are appropriate for the working environment.
  • Monitors the effective implementation of appropriate Safety and Environment System procedures and provide for their updating in line with changes in Legislation and Company Directives.
  • Provides for motivation and familiarization of all Company personnel respecting the importance of complying with Company system procedures and all Safety equipment provided.
  • Assists the Ireland Operations Departments in their dealings with Clients on all issues concerned with Health and Safety at work.
  • Conducts safety audits for all Crane Worldwide Ireland Limited premises at regular monthly intervals.
  • Takes part in accident / incident investigation.
  • Carries out analysis of accident / incident statistics, identifying trends and suggesting improvement plans.
  • Provides technical support to Senior Management on any safety related subjects.
  • Coordination of regular audits within the framework of QHSE and AEO company policy.
  • Monitoring and supporting the job file spot audit process in accordance with company policy.
  • Management of the company's STARS reporting system within the business unit.
  • Implement, Manage, monitor and communicate policy and procedure across all levels within the business unit to ensure compliance and to communicate any gaps to stakeholders.
  • Align with management to manage change and drive improvement.
  • Collaborating with various local, regional and global business stakeholders to ensure compliance with Government and Customs regulations.
  • Carries out any in-house safety training where applicable.
  • Carries out safety audits on Sub-contractors where applicable.
  • Liaises between Clients on safety related issues where required.
  • Preparation of Health and Safety documentation for new tenders.
  • Provides Safety support and advice, including supervision on preparation of plans and procedures for initial contract start up activities where required.
  • Understand the application of the Health and Safety at Work legislation relevant to the Companies business.
  • Keep up to date with changes in current legislation and to bring to the attention of the Senior Management team any relevant new legislation.
  • Attend such courses/seminars run by external sources to enable accurate interpretation of legislation to enable implementation within the organisation.
  • Ensure that all "assessments" as required by legislation are conducted and reviewed at relevant intervals and to maintain records of the same.
  • To recommend control measures and advise on the standard of P.P.E. issued to employees.
  • Conduct health and safety inspections and prepare reports of all the company's operations.
  • Immediately contact the Senior Management if situations are found, that in the opinion of the QHSSE Manager, require immediate rectification or the stopping of any operation.
  • To notify Senior Management if the corrective action agreed after any workplace inspection is not implemented by the arranged date.
  • To carry out investigations into all accidents and near-miss incidents and to record the findings on the relevant forms.
  • Advise the Company Management of all reportable incidents.
  • To arrange Health surveillance as instructed.
  • To highlight areas where training/certification is required to meet the standards imposed by Legislation, Approved Codes of Practice, or H.S.E. guidance.
  • To bring new techniques for improving health, safety and welfare to the attention of the Senior Management team.
  • To set a personal example by wearing appropriate personal protective clothing/equipment and observing all safety requirements/procedures.
  • Security

  • Responsible for compliance to IATA requirements around security and handling of Hazardous airfreight.
  • Review and develop the Regulated Agent Security programme for Ireland offices.
  • Review security protocols and develop strategy to ensure Ireland facilities are secure.
  • Assist Senior Management with implementation of TAPA A standards.
  • Audit and inspect Regulated Agent processes and future TAPA A standards.
  • Main contact and responsible for Security breaches
  • Construct security incident reports as when occurrences.
  • Quality

  • Work with the Ireland Managment to understand AEO / ISO / GDP and other quality guidelines.
  • Conduct internal ISO Audits.
  • Assist in implementing new measures, process and protocols to assist in obtaining new certifications relating to quality.
  • Work in line and assist in developing internal quality systems.
  • Other Skills and Abilities

  • Computer Literate
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet, web based and job specific software applications
  • Proven track record in Health and Safety environments
  • Proven track record in Security environments
  • Proven track record in Quality environments
  • Previous Managerial experience
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Willing to travel as required – 3 sites in Ireland.
  • Team building skills.
  • Good communication skills
  • Education & Experience

  • HSE Qualification
  • Aviation Security advantageous
  • Knowledge of dangerous goods handling
  • Understanding FCPA regulations
  • Understanding of International Trade Regulations
  • 5 years industry experience at a similar level
  • Certifications & Licences

  • Educated to a high standard.
  • Relevant industry certification to support the necessary skills required for the role.
