This exciting opportunity is perfect for an ambitious senior-level professional seeking a new challenge as a Senior R&D Electrical & Electronic Engineer. As a key member of our R&D team, you will lead, guide, and mentor colleagues in developing and supporting next-generation medical diagnostic analysers.

Our ideal candidate must have a proven track record in designing and developing complex electrical and electronic solutions within medical instruments and analysers. Experience in firmware development, PCB design, and integration of sensors, power devices, and microcontrollers is highly desirable.

We are looking for a highly skilled and collaborative individual who can work effectively with other engineering functions to deliver innovative product solutions at pace. As a key member of our R&D network, you will be part of a multidisciplinary team working on complex problems to serve the needs of laboratories worldwide.

Key Skills and Personality Traits

Proven experience in designing and developing high-quality electrical and electronic solutions in a regulated environment
Knowledge of computer operating systems, hardware, and software
PCB design experience with a good understanding of design concepts and component selection
Ability to utilise different design packages, such as Mentor Graphics, Eagle, and Altium
Experience in firmware development, microcontroller programming, and software programming
Knowledge of power electronics, cabling routing, and integration into complex instruments
Control systems engineering knowledge, including PID control and motor tuning
Good understanding of EMC and methods to eliminate electronic interference
Experience with Low Voltage & Machinery Directives and other relevant standards

Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical discipline, such as Electronics, Software, Electrical, or Mechatronic Engineering
5+ years' relevant engineering experience in a high-performing R&D team
