    • Plant Engineering Manager Overview Provide engineering support to the ongoing requirements of the Grange Castle Parenterals Operating Unit. The Plant Engineering Manager will manage the engineering planners and is responsible for ensuring that all maintenance work required to deliver production plan of record (POR), is captured, planned, prioritized, prepared (where appropriate) and made ready for Maintenance Operations & Calibrations to execute. The Plant Engineering Manager will manage a team of Process Technologist (PT's) who deal with equipment issues, CI & robustness projects and all equipment compliance actions. They are also responsible for ensuring that all vendor service level agreements (SLA's), processes and procedures are in place to support Right First-Time maintenance work execution demonstrating value add to our customer. This strategic role focuses on ensuring that both short- and long-term engineering planning processes support the consistent application of maintenance systems, standards and best practice and are fit for purpose and clearly demonstrable to ensure that all engineering activities are carried out in a safe, efficient and compliant manner. It will also include developing and assessing any proposed system improvements due to obsolescence, sustainability and robustness projects for their feasibility and prioritisation for implementation. The Plant Engineering Manager will also champion IMEx through Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and will drive the implementation of GRP tools and techniques within the operating units.

      Full Time – Permanent Job Responsibilities:

      • Overall responsibility for providing technical support, leadership, along with the development and implementation of the long-term strategy (roadmap) for Parenterals, primarily focused on new and emerging technologies
      • Ensuring all engineering compliance related metrics including Deviations, Change Controls, CAPAs and Audit responses are completed on time and in full
      • Budget Management – forecast and control of Repair & Maintenance and Spares annual spend
      • Vendor Management – Establish and maintain relationships with key equipment vendors along with developing and controlling all Service Level Agreements (SLA's)
      • Project Management for key engineering capital projects
      • Sponsor for Tier 2 CI projects. Identify and prioritise improvement projects for the Technical Operations team
      • Provide guidance and coaching to engineers/engineering technicians across the business in aspects of effective problem solving, recipe development and equipment maintenance
      • Work Management team responsibilities including line management responsibilities for the Maintenance planners and Process Technologist using DOC systems
      • Spare parts management oversight and Obsolescence program ownership.
      • Ensure the team and area is always audit ready.
      • Represent Technical Operations for all OPU safety and Regulatory compliance audits
      • Interface with Core Engineering and facilities: -GRP – Reliability, EAM's, Calibration, Utilities, Automation, PLE & Facilities
      • Technician training development & planning its implementation
      • Annual shutdown planning. This includes all activity that requires Eng. Ops support.
      • Work to implement a culture of Right-First Time through partnerships with Operations, Core Engineering and Core Technical Services
      Qualifications
      • Minimum qualification of a B.Sc. Degree in Engineering, Science or equivalent with particular emphasis in Biochemical, Chemical or Mechanical discipline.
      • 5+ years of industrial experience, ideally covering Operations, or Engineering within Parenterals manufacturing.
      • Proven problem solving and project management skills.
      • Experience or aptitude in leading and managing project work/teams.
      • Experience of FDA and EU licensing inspections.
      • Demonstrated experience in biopharmaceutical / pharmaceutical industry
      • Good working knowledge of Quality Tracking System/Veeva Vault (Change Management)
      • Strong people management, leadership and communication skills
      Nice-to-Have
      • Experience of equipment commissioning, qualification and requalification
      • Certification to six sigma green belt would be an advantage
      Qualifications & Experience Requirements
      • Minimum qualification of a B.Sc. Degree in Engineering, Science or equivalent with particular emphasis in Biochemical, Chemical or Mechanical discipline
      • A minimum of 5+ years cGMP industrial experience covering Operations, Engineering, Projects and equipment qualification within bioprocess manufacturing
      • In depth understanding of process/equipment engineering
      • Working knowledge of production operations, scheduling, design, planning, process evaluation and equipment selections.
      • Ability to upgrade or direct technical aspects of equipment installation, start-up, troubleshooting and repair or to obtain appropriate outside repair services to accomplish same.
      • Experience working with automated control systems, MCS (Manufacturing Control system) and PI (Data acquisition system).
      • Demonstrated ability to provide technical solutions for complex problems through equipment/process knowledge.
      • Proficient in the use of structured problem-solving tools such as Process Mapping, RCA (Root cause analysis), FMEA's (Failure Mode effects analysis) etc.
      • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and an ability to work independently
      • Vault & QTS training for events, commitments and change controls
      • Demonstrated ability to provide technical solutions for complex problems through equipment/process knowledge
      • Proven ability leading and working in cross functional teams, excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
