    The Global EHS team is actively seeking the right teammate to support the stand up of our Environmental, Health,Safety & Sustainability function in our Ireland factory as the Senior Manager, EHSS.

    Reporting to the Regional EHSS Leader, the Snr EHSS Manager will provide leadership in enabling a high performance and positive Environment, Health, Safety & Sustainability (EHSS) culture. Continuously looking for improvement the incumbent will provide technical expertise across all functions to ensure a compliant and safe workplace for all employees, visitors, and contractors. Working closely with the Global EHSS team, the local EHSS leader will ensure alignment to global process, best practice and implementation at site level. Strong communication with all stakeholders be they local or international is a key requirement of the role.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work as part of the Local Leadership Team to deliver the Athenry ramp from green fieldto high performance organisation delivering to Dexcom'sexpectations
  • Lead the EHSS function and team, providing technical expertisetoenable plant wide EHS objectives be achieved
  • Continually improve the EHSS workplace performance by promoting a positive safety culture, identifying and mitigating EHSS risk and implementing safety and environmental management systems in accordance with regulations, globalpolicies and standards
  • Build relationships across the plant to ensure continuous compliance and promote a pro-active EHSS culture
  • Drive compliance through 1) Continually communicatingleading EHSS performanceindicators in the plant, and externally to global stakeholders, to create awareness and 2) through detailed education, training and review
  • Provide leadership to both local and global EHSS projects and support cross functional project teams deliver on their programs
  • Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, Dexcom global standards and best practices
  • Responsible for writing and management of programs and data for demonstration of Dexcom's environmental management system (EMS) and Occupational Health and Safety management System (OHSMS)
  • Implement and maintain site environmental permits, licenses, and certificates as required
  • Provide governance and guidance for the management and control of hazardous materials and waste
  • Manage the accident and incident programin accordance with OSHA and corporate responsibilities. Review, investigate and implement action plans for all work-related injuries, illnesses, accidents and safety concerns
  • Develop and coordinate implementation of EHSS emergency action plans which may include being the point of contact for emergency personnel
  • Establish and assure adherence to budgets, schedules, work plans, and performance requirements
  • Represent the company at audits and site visits by the local authorities and customers, both internal and external
  • Engage all managers within the plant on the EHSS journey providing clarity on their responsibilities to ensure compliance
  • Engage with the global team on knowledge sharing / best practice
  • Work in conjunction with the NPI team to ensure compliant deployment of new process and technology
  • Responsible for acting as a role model of Dexcom's values and creating a positive work environment
  • Work is primarily achieved through others, with direct accountability for setting direction, deploying resources, and leading pay, performance, goal-setting and development discussions
  • Responsible for leading and developing a team of EHSprofessionals
  • Develop optimal structure, manage and upskill self and team to implement an effective EHSS culture to support business needs
  • Establishes objectives and work plans, and delegates assignments to team members / supporting employees.
  • Provides guidance and support to team members / employees
  • Requires the ability to effectively influence others and manage sensitive situations.
  • Experience and Education Requirements:

  • Requires a Bachelor's degree in EHS or a related technical field (Engineering or Life Sciences) with 10+ years of EHS experience AND at least 2-5 years of EHS management experience
  • Experience leading and developing a team EHS professionals (3 or more)
  • Medical device or pharmaceutical manufacturing experience
  • Strong understanding of EHS management systems and ISO 45 and ISO 14
  • Ability to translate, statistically analyze data, and effectively report problems through written and/or graphical formats
  • Ability to use Lean Manufacturing and OPEX tools to make the EHS program and EHS Team more efficient
  • Proficient use of MS Office suite and EHS IT systems
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to design and write effective EHS program documents
  • In depth knowledge of EHS regulations and regulatory requirements applicable to a large medical device manufacturing plant.

  • Experience of construction programs an advantage
  • Experience of start-up/scale up an advantage
  • EHS professional credential from accrediting organization (e.g.NEBOSH, IOSH, IIRSM)
  • Master's degree in EHS or technical field (Engineering or Life Sciences)
  • ISO and ISO auditing experience and experience with initial certification of manufacturing sites
  • Strong analytical skills with demonstrated problem solving ability, experienced in six sigma problem solving techniques
  • Ability to adapt well to fast-paced environments with changing circumstances.
  • Travel Required:

  • Up to 20%
